Comber has worked with children and adults in institutions in Romania since 1991. Comber is now working with the Romanian Government to drive the closure of institutions for children and young adults with disabilities.
Over the last number of years, some progress has been made in Romania in the closure institutions for children. Children have been re-united with families, fostered or re-housed in smaller group homes.
However, 15 years on, many young adults with disabilities are still living the legacy of Ceausescu
