School Restorative Conferencing
A positive approach to keeping young people in the school community. This is a briefing paper examining the effectiveness of suspension and exclusion as a response to disruptive behaviour and highlighting restorative justive, through school restorative conferencing as an appropriate alternative. Dealing with disruptive behaviour is a difficult issue for many, if not all, teachers and suspensions and exclusions are becoming increasingly used as a means of control, with many teachers feeling there is no alternative. But does exclusion really work?

Assessing the Risks to Children from Domestic Violence
This Barnardo's NI briefing looks at the findings of two pilot studies, using Barnardo's Domestic Violence Risk Assessment Model, developed by the Barnardo's Domestic Violence Outreach Service. The studies were conducted in 2004 by Barnardo's NI with three Health and Social Services Trusts.
