Human Rights Commission launches new look website.

Keeping up to date with Northern Ireland’s Human Rights watchdog has just become easier on the eye, thanks to a new website for the body.

The site is more accessible than before, more intuitive for browsers, and features advanced accessibility features. The site is fully W3C AAA compliant, meaning it meets all currently applicable accessibility guidelines, but sacrifices nothing by way of attractiveness; it’s quite a massive improvement on what went before.

In a welcome addition, the site also features Browsealoud technology, which allows the contents of a screen to be read to browsers with visual impairment.

Peter O’Neill, NIHRC Head of Information, Education and Development, said:

Over the past six months a lot of time and energy has been devoted to evaluating the effectiveness of our old site and constructing a more dynamic and interactive version. We’ve achieved a great deal but there is still a lot more to do and I’m very excited about some of the items we are planning to deliver in the next phase.

Users can check out the site on www.nihrc.org, where they can find a signup for the Commission’s newly branded e-newsletter.
