June is Toddle month and to get the Barnardo's Big Toddle off to a great start Barnardo's Northern Ireland held their first Toddle at Belfast Zoo on 06 June. Toddle Northern Ireland patron Sarah Travers of BBC Northern Ireland's Newsline started the sponsored half mile walk around the Zoo.

"We are delighted to welcome the Barnardo’s Big Toddle to Belfast Zoo and hope to make it an annual event" said Joy Bond, Business Development Officer at Belfast Zoo.

What is the Big Toddle?

The Barnardo's Big Toddle is the UK’s largest fundraiser for the under 5s. It is an opportunity for children to raise money and help other disadvantaged children.

Who can take part?

Groups will be toddling all over Northern Ireland in the month of June. Nearly 100 toddlers took part in the half mile sponsored Toddle at Belfast Zoo.

How much was raised?

Last year Northern Ireland’s terrific Toddlers helped change the lives of children and young people forever by raising £45,000 for Barnardo’s early years work here.
