Developing Managers Programme participantsThe University of Ulster in Association with Boston College, USA is running a further programme commencing in April 2008. Bursary support is available to managers in the Community and Voluntary sector reducing the cost of the programme to £2450 (inclusive of all Boston related costs).

We are now inviting applicants for the Developing Managers Programme. This course is specifically geared towards aspiring Northern Ireland senior management who, as part of their personal development, are keen to pursue a management qualification as well as benefit from a practically orientated management programme. The programme is relevant for those who do not have a specific academic background in management, as well as for those who wish to develop their existing management skills.

The programme runs from April 2008 to March 2009. Workshops will be held on the Jordanstown campus on a part-time basis (two days per month) and will involve elements of theory, case studies, benchmarking, as well as a high degree of class participation and interaction.

A one week residential will also be held in Boston, incorporating lectures in Boston College, as well as site visits to a number of North America's leading organisations.

The programme is structured around six modules (leadership, managing people, finance, marketing, business improvement and strategic growth). Assessment will be assignment based, with successful completion leading to the award of the Advanced Diploma in Management Practice.
