Are you profiting from difference?

Diversity Works is looking for a voluntary and community organisation to pilot a diversity management project.

Workplace facts

  • By 2010, less than 20% of the UK working population will be white, male, able-bodied and under the age of 45.
  • In 2004 a total of 168 million working days were lost to absence and cost the UK employers a total of £12.2 billion.
  • In 2002 16% or all UK businesses with five or more employees had hard-to-fill vacancies.

Diversity Management within an organisation is about creating a culture that seeks, respects and utilises difference.

Increasingly, organisations are realising that implementing a diversity management process is not just ‘the right thing to do’ but necessary to improve the bottom line.

Already in Northern Ireland, Parcelforce Worldwide NI, the British Council and youth sector organisations [through the JEDI Initiative] have benefited from diversity management processes.

Some of the benefits include increased staff retention, reduced absenteeism, better use of employees' skills and improved customer loyalty.

Pilot project

Diversity Works is looking for a voluntary and community organisation to join us in a pilot project.

It will be a tailor made diversity management process for your organisation which will run from September 2005 to June 2007. The services provided within the pilot will be heavily subsidised.
