TADA Rural Lisburn Outreach Project will host a celebration event in Hillsborough Village Centre on Thursday 18 May 2006. The event celebrates the work of the project with Lisburn’s rural communities. Launched in 2003, TADA Rural Lisburn Outreach Project has developed to help strengthen rural communities living in Lisburn. The project has supported rural community groups, developed their skills, knowledge and expertise, facilitated partnership with key agencies and other community projects and raised the awareness of community development in rural Lisburn.
The celebration event celebrates this work; participants in the project will give a personal account of working with the project, from participating in training on a range of issues from insurance to fundraising to their involvement in reconciliation work. Jude Cumiskey, Community Development Officer, will highlight some of the many successes of the project and Libby Keyes from Rural Community Network will speak about the importance of community development in rural areas.
