New policy toolkit launched.

Policy ToolkitThe WRDA launched a 'Policy Toolkit' for their trained Community Facilitators on 21 March 2006 at the CEDAW seminar in Equality House. The toolkit is designed to increase Community Facilitators' knowledge and understanding of policy work and consultation processes.

The drafting of this toolkit and the training of our Community Facilitators in the area of policy is another progressive step towards women's empowerment and participation in this important field.

The attractive toolkit features sections on consultation, policy, designing the consultation process, the role of the Community Facilitator, Section 75, the consultation sessions and contact details. It suggests various creative methods of ensuring meaningful and effective consultations. It's visually appealing format makes it easy and enjoyable to work with, and as a folder can be updated quickly.

The WRDA coordinates a network of 180 skilled Community Facilitators, geographically spread across Northern Ireland, who have recognized training (NVQ Level III in Direct Training and Support). Several of these are currently being trained in the area of facilitating consultations and developing and influencing policies.
