CONTACT YOUTH COUNSELLING

Contact Youth Counselling is the lead regional, independent, professional, rapid-response schools and community based counselling option for young people in crisis and transition. With 30 years experience we offer excellent terms and conditions, a commitment to first class training, independent clinical supervision and support towards BACP accreditation.

INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS COUNSELLING SERVICE (POST PRIMARY)

Funded by the Dept of Education Children and Young People’s Package, Contact Youth were awarded the contract to provide independent counselling services to all 230 post primary schools in Northern Ireland. To complete our phased recruitment we now invite applications for the following posts.

SCHOOLS COUNSELLORS – We currently have several vacancies for part time term-time Schools Counsellors (20 hours per week) in the Fermanagh, Omagh and Strabane regions. £20K - £28K (Pro rata, part time term time).

SCHOOLS TEAM LEADER – We currently have a vacancy for a full time permanent Schools Team Leader in the Fermanagh area and a vacancy for a fixed term Schools Team Leader in the Derry area. £26K - £32K.

CLINICAL SUPERVISORS – We have vacancies for Clinical Supervisors to facilitate individual and group supervision on a consultancy basis throughout Northern Ireland. To meet our exacting standards you will have a proven track record as a Senior Counsellor, with at least 1500 hours (post initial training) supervised counselling practice and a significant current portfolio of experience as an independant Clinical Supervisor, gained over (at least) the last three years. Contact Youth requires all Clinical Supervisors to have direct experience of work with young people in distress, and evidence of a clear understanding of young people’s needs and issues.

For all Contact Youth Counselling’s posts we require a recognised Counselling Diploma and 150 hours post qualification supervised practice as an essential entry requirement. We also require direct clinical experience with young people in distress, and evidence of a clear understanding of young people’s needs and issues. Finally, we are looking for qualities such as creativity, resilience, an optimistic, enthusiastic attitude and the capacity to thrive in a challenging learning environment. Secondments to any of these posts would be welcomed.
