Coordinator of Migrant Workers' Programme at STEP, Dungannon Business Park
Hours: 30 per week
Main duties and responsibilities
- To provide supervisory management of staff on Migrant Workers Programme.
- To provide team leadership, effective delivery, integration and linkage with main STEP programme.
- To develop a three year operational plan and assist in developing a six year strategic plan for BME / STEP migrant support work.
- To identify new opportunities and needs.
- To assist in developing appropriate resources.
- To provide appropriate reports on progress to STEP coordinator and management board on each project and overall migrant programme.
- To provide reports to the financial manager.
- To liaise appropriately with other sub-programme coordinators.
- To liaise with external organisations.
- To represent the programme appropriately as required.
Essential criteria
Experience
- A commitment to a non-judgemental, rights -based, equality and integrationist approach to community development work.
- Three years experience in working in BME (Black and Minority Ethnic, including traveller community)/ multi-cultural/ migrant worker /immigrant / refugee context and environment.
- Supervisory Management experience - A minimum of three years - two of which must be management of at least four paid staff or three paid staff + volunteers.
- Resource management - three years experience in identifying and securing appropriate resources, including human and financial resources.
- Financial Management - two years experience in costing; budgeting; managing project financial accounts and financial reporting.
- Delivery - three years experience of delivery / coordination of time-bound preset-budget project activity including: monitoring, evaluation and completion of appropriate financial and non-financial progress reports.
- ICT competent - working knowledge of Microsoft Office package. (min ECDL standard).
- Current driving licence and access to own transport.
- Demonstrated capacity in the use of English (spoken, written, listening) to the level appropriate for the job description.

- Management qualification.
- Community development qualification.
- Previous experience in staff development.
- Previous experience in policy and research.
STEP has secured three year funding for development and management costs of its migrant worker programme.
This post is being offered initially for one year, and will be renewed, without further advertising, for a further two years dependent upon:
a) the overall funding context of the organisation (STEP)
b) the performance of the post-holder
