The Northern Ireland Social Care Council is the social care workforce regulator for Northern Ireland.
We were established in 2001 and our role is to raise the quality of social care practice through workforce education and training, to put in place better safeguards to protect people using social care services and to increase public confidence in our workforce.
Registration of the social care workforce is a key aspect of this work.
Registration and conduct procedures are vital to protect the 175,000 people who use care services from unsuitable individuals, abuse or neglect. Only by taking action when it is required, can we hope to maintain a proud and professional social care workforce.
We are looking for two different groups of people to act as members of the Registration, Preliminary Proceedings, Conduct, or Restoration Committees in order to contribute to the regulation of registered social and social care workers. The different groups are:
