Part time Carer Advocate: Antrim / Ballymena and East Antrim
CAUSE is a charity providing support for the carers and families of people with serious mental illness.
The position is part time and offered on a one year fixed termed contract initially, but it is hoped that the post will be ongoing.
Salary: £10,148 per annum
(17.5 hours per week)
The project will operate in the following areas: Antrim, Ballymena, Larne, Carrickfergus, Newtownabbey. The successful candidate will be based within the local project area and also work closely with the staff at the head office in Belfast.
The Carer Advocate appointed will be an integral member of the CAUSE team, will support families and carers in the community, liaise with health care staff and be responsible for the CAUSE office in the local area.
The appointee will be a self starter, be prepared to work flexible hours and have a post secondary level of education. He or she will have personal experience caring for someone with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder or severe depression. He or she will hold a valid driving licence with access to a car. Knowledge of word processing is also desirable.
