The Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health is a registered charity concerned with the promotion of mental health and the provision of mental health services throughout Northern Ireland.

The Training and Learning Support Manager is a new post created to enable the further development of the Training and Learning function within the Services Department.

Our schemes are located throughout Northern Ireland and the appointee will be expected to travel. As we enter our 50th year of providing Day Care Services and Supported Housing to people with mental health needs we are looking to support our continued expansion with improved access to training and learning opportunities for Volunteers and Service Users as well as meeting the requirements of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council in relation to staff training and learning.

Essential Criteria:
1. Professional qualification in Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Training or Teaching. Plus A minimum of 3 year’s experience of working in Social Care.
OR Educated to degree level or a recognized teaching/training qualification or NVQ 4 in Training and Development or equivalent in Health and/or Social Care.
Plus 4 years experience of working in Social Care.
OR A minimum of 6 year’s experience in Social Care which includes a minimum of 4 years in a community mental health setting.

2. Can demonstrate experience of commissioning and delivery of training to staff and service users, Assessment and/or Internal Moderation/Verification and resource management.

3. Ability to create and use databases, to record and extract reports and produce appropriate computer based training and learning materials.

4. A full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
