CAUSE for Mental Health is recruiting a Carer Advocate

This position is part time and permanent. The Carer Advocate will support the carers and families of those in the Shannon Clinic unit at Knockbracken Healthcare Park. The Advocate will be based in Shannon Clinic and will also work closely with the staff at the Head Office in Belfast.

Salary: £10,148 per annum (17.5 hours per week)

The successful candidate will be an integral member of the CAUSE team, will support families and carers, liaise with health care staff and be responsible for the local CAUSE office.

The appointee

1. Will be a self-starter, be prepared to work flexible hours and have a post-secondary level of education.
2. He/she will have personal experience of caring for someone with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or severe depression.
3. He/she will hold a current full driving licence and access to transport for work purposes or access to another form of transport that would allow the post holder to meet the travel requirements of the post.
4. Knowledge of word processing is also desirable.
