Glencree Churches Programme has an opportunity for two Field Workers.

Based in Northern Ireland and six southern Border Counties this is a two year part time contract (self employed), which will commence early 2006.

Duties

  1. To work with the Glencree Programme team to deliver a project that involves activity on a cross-border, cross-community basis with church-based leadership.
  2. The project specifically aims to create new contacts and strengthen existing ones with and between people who have pastoral responsibility in Christian churches in the region.
  3. This is a civil society, good neighbour initiative based on shared history, heritage, landscape and common humanity.
  4. There is no ecumenical, doctrinal or confessional agenda.

Competencies

The contract will interest people who can start work immediately and who:

  1. have experience working with church communities
  2. are interested in relationship building in the context of clergy and other pastoral leaders
  3. can offer c 20 hours per week to the project, including evening and weekend work.

These posts will not be based in Wicklow, but rather in the border areas.

An attractive contract fee plus expenses is on offer.
