A NEW teleVISION FOR BELFAST

Northern Visions is due to begin a terrestrial television service for the Belfast area this autumn and seeks to recruit journalists able to both originate programming and to work with communities in the production of innovative television programming.

This is a two year project in community television journalism and multi media production designed to build capacity with marginalised community groups/communities of interest in Belfast and to provide intensive spring and winter schools in the production and presentation of television programmes for broadcast.

COMMUNITY TELEVISION JOURNALISTS (two vacancies)

Salary £20,000
37 working hours per week

Applicants will have either:

  • a recognised journalistic qualification and practical experience in journalism for print, radio or television of over one year, or two years practical experience in journalism for print, radio or television or
  • two years practical experience in documentary/factual/news filmmaking.

COMMUNITY TELEVISION JOURNALIST (PRODUCTION)

  • as above but with part of the job devoted to production/project management. Applicants will have additional production/project management skills.
