The Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health is a registered charity concerned with the promotion of mental health and the provision of mental health services throughout Northern Ireland.

Beacon Support Services, a department of NIAMH, provides support to tenants of Sheltered Housing Schemes. Sheltered Housing Schemes provide accommodation for people who are over 40 and who have additional support needs, these may be related to physical or mental health, or both. Beacon Support Services staff provide and arrange one-to-one or group support as required.

The applicant will be highly motivated and able to contribute to the development of a range of support services to meet the needs of residents in a Sheltered Housing Scheme. The successful applicant will be expected to work a flexible rota that includes early, late and weekend shifts.

Essential Criteria will include:

• Educated NVQ level 2 or equivalent
• A minimum of 1 year’s experience in a caring capacity
• Evidence experience and/or knowledge of group work skills.

Applicants will be expected to work flexibly on a shift basis which will include evenings and weekends.

Applicants who can demonstrate one year mental health experience or more will start on the second point of the scale i.e. £7,002
