The successful candidate will be required to work with NIPPA staff and other relevant external staff to influence sustainability and resilience of community development organisations delivering early childhood services in Northern Ireland and beyond.

  1. A pass level degree (or equivalent) in an area of study related to or incorporating Community Development and Communication.
  2. A minimum of three years (in the last five years) experience in the field of Community Development in an Early Years or Community Education or Social Care or Health setting.
  3. Demonstrable experience in preparing and developing training programmes.
  4. Demonstrable experience in facilitating groups and using strategies for participative decision making.
  5. Demonstrate working knowledge of research, strategies and processes for sustainability and resilience in community development organisations.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of current government policies in relation to early years and community development.
  7. Demonstrate an understanding of the community and voluntary early years sector.
  8. Demonstrable knowledge of the key players in community development in Northern Ireland.
  9. Demonstrate a working knowledge of current funding programmes.
  10. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with internal and external relations.
  11. A full current driving licence enabling the holder to drive in NI and have the use of a vehicle for official purposes or have access to a form of transport that will enable the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full.
