YouthAction Northern Ireland's Rainbow Factory would like to invite suitably qualified and experienced Composer and Lyricist teams (2 Posts) to submit proposals for the creation and delivery of a new youth theatre musical devising programme in collaboration with the Rainbow Factory artistic team and a group of 40 young people in Belfast during summer 2006.

The programme has 3 strands:

Recruitment and Initial ideas Workshops (May, June and July).

Taking place over 3 weekends the workshops will be used to recruit the cast and crew of 40 young people and then develop, in collaboration with the cast and crew, ideas for the new youth musical. (In the months in between the creative teams will further develop these ideas and begin to create draft one of the script)

4-Week Devising and Musical Training Course (Aug)

This is an intensive programme, during which the creative team cast and crew will continue to develop the first draft of the musical. During these four weeks alongside devising the cast will also take part in daily musical theatre skills workshops. This course will then culminate in a work in progress presentation of the first draft of the musical in the Waterfront Hall Studio.

Creation of Final Draft (Sept-Nov)

During these two months the creative team will develop and complete the final draft of the new youth theatre musical in consultation with the cast.
