There is a vacancy at ADAPT NI for an Assistant Project Officer to support the organisation of accessibility projects, provide administration support and assist with other ADAPT activities.

The positions require sensitivity to disability issues.

The person will be involved in supporting the administration, coordination and delivery of Accessibility Projects and will contribute to the day to day activities of ADAPT.

Responsibilities

  1. To assist with the preparation and distribution of promotional material including the ADAPT newsletter.
  2. To maintain website and access information database.
  3. To liaise with staff and volunteers in scheduling access appraisal and training activities.
  4. To ensure project records are accurate and monitoring tools are consistently applied for project evaluation.
  5. To deal with enquiries and keep records as appropriate.
  6. To work within budgetary constraints.
  7. To work on own initiative.
  8. To take part in other reasonable duties as require.

Person Specification

Essential

  1. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and good keyboard skills.
  3. At least 1 year’s experience in a comparable working environment

Desirable

  1. Knowledge of disability issues.
  2. Familiarity with Disability legislation.
