The Consumer Council are currently recruiting Consumer Support Officers
The Consumer Council is the statutory voice of consumers in Northern Ireland. Our key aim is to promote and safeguard the interests of all consumers in Northern Ireland with specific legislative responsibility for energy, transport and food.
Consultation carried out in October 2003 recommended that the Consumer Council should assume statutory responsibility for representing the interests of consumers of water and sewerage services, including policy development and complaint handling roles. In preparation for taking on its role formally in April 2007 the Consumer Council now wishes to develop a dedicated team ensuring that the consumer's voice is heard and counts in this important area.
Salary: £14,321 to £19,913
The Consumer Support Officers will respond to complaints and enquiries from consumers and assist with the development of policy, campaigns and research projects.
The successful candidates must be
Educated to degree standard, or equivalent, and have a minimum of one year’s relevant experience in a customer facing role; OR
Have three A level passes or equivalent, in separate subjects, with GCSE/GCE O’ level grade A, B or C in English language, or equivalent, and have a minimum of three years’ relevant experience in a customer facing role; OR
Have a minimum of five GCSE’s/O levels at grade C or above in five subjects including English and Maths and five years’ relevant experience in a customer facing role.
Knowledge of water supply issues, consumer issues and consumer organisations and the advice sector in Northern Ireland are desirable.
