The Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health is a registered charity concerned with the promotion of mental health and the provision of mental health services throughout Northern Ireland.

Applications are invited for the following posts to launch this new independent “Peer Advocacy” service in the Western Health and Social Services Trust Area;

Advocacy Project Worker – 10 hours per week
For one year in the first instance
Ref: AMH/PW/07/25
Salary Scale: £3,740 - £4,907 (under review)
Based in Omagh

The successful applicant will support the mental health advocate in the provision of an individual peer advocacy project in Western Health and Social Services Trust area in both a hospital and community setting. The Advocacy Project Worker will also support the Mental Health Advocate with regard to input into Mental Health planning and polcy.

Essential Criteria

  • Educated NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience of mental health issues either in a paid, voluntary or personal capacity.
  • Experience of the work described in the job description.
