The Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health is a registered charity concerned with the promotion of mental health and the provision of mental health services throughout Northern Ireland.

To ensure that members receive the highest possible standard of care and support by actively promoting the objectives and principals of NIAMH. The Peripatetic Project Worker will be required to be flexible and to provide cover at short notice (absence, leave, etc).

The Peripatetic Project Worker appointed will be based in a scheme that they have indicated a willingness to work in. They will also be required to work across a number of schemes primarily on a planned basis but also on occasions at short notice

Essential Criteria

  • Educated NVQ level 2 or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience in a caring capacity
  • Proven experience of motivating and supporting services users.
  • A full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.

The successful candidate will also receive a flexibility allowance of £624 per annum.

Applicants will be expected to work flexibly on a shift basis, which will include evening, weekend and night cover.

Applicants who can demonstrate one year or more mental health experience will start on the second point of the scale i.e. £12,447.
