Exciting Youth Counselling opportunities
Contact Youth offer rapid response counselling services to young people in crisis.
We are delighted to announce plans for regional project expansion resulting in two major groundbreaking initiatives.
We are expanding our CHILL drugs and alcohol outreach project with five full time Counselling posts, three in the Eastern Board and two located in the Southern Health Board area, funded by EDACT & SDACT.
As a result of successful tenders to the Regional Suicide Prevention Implementation Group we will create six part-time Youth Counselling posts within our newly established Eastern Board Suicide Prevention Project Team.
Both exciting initiatives are partnered with Opportunity Youth who will provide intensive peer mentoring, ensuring young people in need receive immediate, comprehensive clinical assessment and support.
A range of positions are offered at the following salary points, depending on experience.
Senior Youth Counsellor/Project Leader: £26-£32k
Senior Youth Counsellor: £24-£28k
Youth Counsellor: £20-£24k
(under review)
While a recognised Counselling Diploma and 150 hours post-qualification, supervised practice are essential entry criteria, personal qualities such as creativity, resilience, an optimistic enthusiastic attitude and the capacity to thrive in a challenging learning environment are vital characteristics for these demanding but rewarding roles.
We require direct experience of work with young people in distress, and evidence of a clear understanding of young people’s needs and issues.
We have prepared the ground for these developments by firmly establishing Contact Youth as the leading regional, independent, professional, rapid-response counselling option for young people in crisis.
We offer excellent terms and conditions, a commitment to first class training, independent clinical supervision and support towards BACP accreditation.
If you are interested in joining the lead regional youth counselling agency for NI, send an SAE (44p stamp) or email us at admin@contactyouth.org
