This position will involve providing a range of support strategies to the families of young people engaged in our Lifematters programme. This programme is an early intervention for young people aged 8-17 who are misusing substances or at risk of misusing.
Youth Intervention - Family Support Worker
Responsible to: ASCERT Project Coordinator and Life Matters Management Committee
Located: Based out of the Lisburn Office however the post will involve delivery across the Down, Lisburn, North Down and Ards areas

£ 19,662 plus 4% pension
The Family Support Worker will work directly with young people, between the ages of 8 – 17, and their families in a way which will enhance and maintain behavioural and emotional changes which can be achieved by the young persons participation in the services provided within the Lifematters programme. They will also be responsible to promote, strengthen and develop the potential of parents/carers and young people to work together to prevent the young person from being at risk from the misuse of substances. The support provided will be within the context of an Intervention Pathway which will be designed for each young person participating in the programme.
