This position is to provide a programme of systematic psychotherapy to young people
and their family members who are engaged in the Lifematters programme. This programme is
an early intervention for young people aged 8-17who are misusing substances or at risk of misusing.

Responsible to: ASCERT Project Coordinator and Lifematters Management Committee
Location: Based out of the Lisburn Office however the post will involve delivery across the Down, Lisburn, North Down and Ards areas
This post is funded for 2 years
£33,000 plus 4% pension per annum pro rata
This post is 18 hours per week
The Family Therapist will work alongside young people and their families to enhance the potential for behavioural change, and facilitate families to support the young person in maintaining those new behaviour patterns.
It is anticipated that 30 – 40 % of the families who access the Lifematters programme will avail of the opportunity to engage in Systemic Psychotherapy (Family Therapy), in a predetermined package of sessions.
