Citizens Online is a charity that promotes social inclusion and community development using information and communication technology (ICT) as a tool. Working in partnership with the voluntary, public and private sectors this pan Northern Ireland (NI) programme works towards tackling digital exclusion. This programme involves working directly with the community whilst building close relationships with partner organisations, opinion formers and service providers.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and energetic project officer to work with people with a physical disability. You will be working as part of a team but will have the drive and discipline to manage your time effectively and to achieve set targets.

You will be experienced at operating at grass roots level and have some experience of working with disabled people. Operating with local partners you will be responsible for developing creative ways of using technology as a tool to enhance the life skills and opportunities of the citizens of NI. A key element of your work will be in capacity building and looking at innovative ways to increase access to ICT and the Internet. This role is not technical, more important is your understanding of the relevance of digital inclusion in its wider context.

This is a one year fixed term contact with a commitment of funding until September 2009
