In 2006 Disability Action secured funding from Atlantic Philanthropies to enable it to establish a Centre on Human Rights for People with Disabilities. The Centre aims to foster a culture of Human Rights for disabled people throughout Northern Ireland through education and capacity building within the sector and the judicious use of lobbying, influencing and legal challenge.
Disability Action now wishes to appoint to the following position: -Campaigns Officer (Ref COHRC/08)
The Campaigns Officer will initiate and coordinate the campaigning activity of the Centre on Human Rights for Disabled People. The post holder will be responsible for conceiving campaign ideas pertaining to the human rights of people with disabilities; assisting in the design, compilation and distribution of campaign materials; organising campaigning activities and events; identifying and lobbying key stakeholders; and networking with key stakeholders to build support for campaigns.
