Technical Management, Training and Maintenance
- To establish and maintain high standards of technical support to a range of users across all OMAC programme strands including hire outs and other ancillary events.
- To liaise with incoming companies, artists and OMAC programme managers on all technical requirements and ensure high levels of communication are maintained within the staff team and beyond.
- To develop and deliver a technical training programme for staff, students and other users with support from other OMAC personnel.
- To be responsible for all aspects of building maintenance and improvements and to liaise with appropriate personnel in this regard as required.
Health and Safety
- To maintain and develop health and safety regimes for all spaces within OMAC for all activities (including risk assessments).
- To support OMAC’s senior management in the development of appropriate Health and Safety policies in accordance with business needs.
- To develop and deliver a Health and Safety awareness and training programme for all paid and unpaid OMAC staff.
Budgets and Equipment
- To maintain robust financial accounting systems and stock control methods including an inventory of equipment.
- To develop and implement a regular technical maintenance regime which meets all external and internal compliance requirements.
- To be responsible for the hiring of equipment to external agencies.
- To support and advise OMAC’s senior management team on the purchase of equipment (hardware and software) in relation to changing business needs.
Licensing
- To liaise with City Council officials and other external and internal personnel on the preparation of all documentation and other requirements relating to the entertainments licence.
- To be responsible for co-coordinating information and reports in relation to PRS and other similar licensing requirements on an ongoing basis.
Other - To deliver high standards of customer care to all OMAC users.
- To be responsible for the sourcing and managing unpaid or casual technical support staff on an ad-hoc basis and in accordance with OMAC’s organisational policies.
- To undertake training and development as required.
- To respect confidentiality and ensure that information is not released to unauthorised persons.
To undertake any other duties as required by your line manager or OMAC’s senior management team.

Essential skills and abilities
- At least two year’s full-time theatre/arts technical management experience gained in the last five years.
- Ability to set up and operate stage sound and lighting equipment.
- Experience of successfully managing budgets.
- Experience of developing health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
- Willingness to work flexibly across evenings and weekends.
- Ability to organise and supervise casual technical staff and volunteers.
- Experience of designing and delivering technical training to a range of users.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative, independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexibly outside of standard working hours.
- Commitment to high standards of customer care.
- Proven organisational skills and the ability to work effectively to a range of deadlines.
