The Development Support Officer will
- assist with the progression of funding submissions, to include meetings with applicants and the preparation of reports for scrutiny by the EU Committee,
- provide advice to the EU Committee on the objectives and structure of funding submissions and any operational or compliance issues in relation to same,
- assist groups in ensuring that sponsored activities comply with legislative Measure and other requirements in relation to equality of opportunity, publicity, monitoring/evaluation etc,
- assist with the framing of award offers, to include the setting of project-specific objectives, expenditure profiles and monitoring requirements, provide developmental support and advice to grant recipients on EU contractual obligations and to ensure that management and control systems are established in relation to same,
- complete an ongoing cycle of verification visits so as to ensure contractual compliance across the Measure and to identify and action any deficiencies/concerns in relation to same,
- complete reports on all verification visits undertaken and to ensure that these fulfil European Programme and any other contractual requirements,
- prepare reports on work undertaken, to include a review of the service provided to Measure beneficiaries and recommendations on how this might be improved,
- undertake such training as may be required in pursuance of the Council’s contractual obligations with SEUPB, or which may be deemed necessary to assist the post-holder in fulfilling his/her responsibilities.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Director – European Programme
SALARY: £15,882 - £23,938 per annum
STATUS OF POST: The post is on a full-time, fixed-term basis until 31 December 2008
