A Shared Future Policy and Strategic Framework for Good Relations in Northern Ireland has identified a significant challenge for government and others to deliver a joined up approach to policies relating to improving community relations.
Many policy areas have been identified for action in the high level document. These aspirations have to be turned into practical policy interventions and in addition to this, there are many areas of public policy that need to be engaged with to actively address the question of improving community relations
Among other things, CRC has been given the responsibility of providing annual reports on progress in the implementation of A Shared Future Policy and Strategic Framework for Good Relations in Northern Ireland. This regular and comprehensive review of policy and practice will be a challenge to Council which currently has limited resources available for policy work.
In the longer term, this resource need will be taken forward with OFMDFM. In the meantime the organisation needs to make an adequate short term response to the current needs.
Therefore, Council is seeking to employ a Shared Future Policy Officer for one year to support the transition to the new policy arrangements.
Responsible to: Programme Director – Policy Development
Salary Scale: £18,809 - £28,007per annum
Status of Post: The post will be on a full time fixed term basis for one year.
