Forthspring requires a part-time Youth Worker for 20 hours per week to support our Cross Community programmes for young people aged 11 - 18 years.

Rate of Pay £6.43 per hour
Initially up to February 2008

Duties and Responsibilities
The role of the part time youth worker is to support the centre based youth worker in the delivery of a Community Relations youth work programme.

1. To assist the youth worker in the planning, implementation and delivery of the youth work programme.
2. To work directly with young people in structured personal development programmes.
3. To work directly with young people in a structured Good Relations programme.

Essential Criteria

1. Minimum OCN Level 2 in Youth Work (or equivalent).
2. One year’s experience in youth work (voluntary or paid).
3. An understanding of developmental youth work.
4. To enjoy working with young people.
5. Ability to communicate effectively.
6. A commitment to the ethos of cross community work and equal opportunities.
7. To be in general good health.
8. Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
