Personal Specification - Training Development Worker

Essential

  • Qualifications/Education/Training
  1. Relevant 3rd level qualification.
  2. Training qualification (e.g. CIPD)
  • Experience
  1. At least one year post qualifying experience in the voluntary sector or community groups.
  2. Previous experience in community development.
  3. Previous demonstrable experience in designing and delivering training, including awareness raising sessions.
  4. Previous experience in promoting organisations and services.
  5. Working knowledge of Asylum and Refugee Issues in NI and/or elsewhere and also of minority ethnic issues in NI.
  6. One years experience of working with or in a community organisation.
  7. Working knowledge of equality legislation and human rights.
  8. Experience of Committee procedures.
  9. An understanding of the requirements of confidentiality.
  • Skills
  1. Demonstrable IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programmes.
  2. Demonstrable organisational and administration skills, particularly programme planning.
  3. Ability to write clear reports.
  4. Ability to manage volunteers.
  5. Ability to work with groups.
  6. Demonstrable ability to relate well to people from different backgrounds.
  7. Fluent in spoken and written English.
  8. Good communication skills.
  9. Ability to communicate in simple and straightforward English.
  10. A flexible approach to working conditions and working environment.
  11. Ability to work on own initiative.
  12. Good time management skills.
  13. Ability to work co-operatively and effectively as part of a team.

Desirable

  • To be bi-lingual in English and at least one other language in both oral and written forms.
  • Familiarity with the QASRO system for quality assurance.
