Upper North Belfast Community Empowerment Partnership (UNBCEP) seeks to promote cooperation, collaboration and community cohesion through the delivery of capacity building programmes.

UNBCEP is seeking to recruit a Community Support Officer. This is a full time post funded until March 2009
Salary: £20,895- £22,293 (pay award pending) NJC point 26-28
Plus 5% pension contribution

37.5 hours per week (some work outside normal office hours may be required)

Job Duties
The post holder will deliver capacity building support packages to voluntary and community based member groups operating in Upper North Belfast.

Qualifications/ Experience

• Relevant third level qualification in community development or other related discipline with a minimum of 2 years experience in community development work in an inner city and/ or peripheral estates environment. Or
• 4 years practical experience in community development work in an inner city and/ or peripheral estates environment.
• Proven track record in community development work with an understanding of key principals/ value base, process and approaches.
