Line Up At Féile 06 Set To Rock West Belfast!

Féile is now entering its 19th year and since its inception, has provided a broad range of both international and community events, which have been central in attracting tourists from around the world to celebrate with the local people.

Dublin rock giants Aslan will be kicking off the festival which starts on Sunday 6th of August, supported by local rock band Tin Pot Operation.

Fairground Attraction fans should not miss the Eddi Reader gig on Tuesday 8th. Eddi will be returning to the stage with her new band for Féile 06 and will be supported by special guest Karen Casey.

Anuna and Colin Reid will be playing a special gig in Clonard Monastery. The combination of Anuna's enchanting melodies combined with the stunning atmospheric surroundings of Clonard Monastery guarantees an extraordinary evening for all.

Other bands playing this year include African musicians Femi Kuti and the Positive Force accompanied by Emmanuel Jal on Wed 9th. Award winning reggae group Steel Pulse will be supported by Breag on Friday 11th,

Local band the Vals will back up Echo and the Bunnymen who will return to Belfast for the headline gig which will take place on Saturday 12th August. This is definitely going to be the concert of the year, I'm sure the fans will be revelling in the Bunnymens return to the city of Belfast.

Jerry Fish and the Mudbug Club, who raised the spirits of the damp festival goers at Oxygen this year will be sending Féile 06 out with a bang. They played last year and were so popular that they have been asked back to perform at the Féile finale on Sunday 13th August. They are supported by Kissmet.

If all this isn't enough to tantalise the entertainment buds then come along to the comedy night and let the Cuban Brother have you in stitches during a frenzied gig which combines music, dance and riotous comedy.

Féile Director, Sean Paul O'Hare, seems excited by the event, commenting:

As always Féile has a wide array of daily activities for all the family ranging from a hip hop competition, International food fayre, sporting events, numerous drama's and plays, exhibitions, traditional music, poetry sessions and a party in the park. Be sure to come to this years carnival parade where thousands of people will parade the streets under the theme 'happiness', don't forget the cameras as this will be an extremely colourful affair.
