The main aim behind this project is to offer a range of “taster” style courses to encourage people from disadvantaged backgrounds to come into higher education, especially Engineering. These courses are free of charge.

We currently have available:

  • Introduction to the Internet & Multimedia
  • Introduction to Programming

New courses currently being developed for April 2007 are:

  • Introduction to Computers
  • Introduction to Electronics
  • Problem Solving Using Computers
  • Computers in Society

The courses are available on CD which means students can work at a time and pace that suits them. This should take 4 – 8 weeks to complete. The only method of assessment is a multiple choice quiz. On successful completion of the quiz, students will receive a certificate from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ulster.
