Event
In the autumn and winter months the floor of Colin Glen Forest Park is awash with vibrant colours and mushrooms. We see the common button or perhaps more fashionable chanterelle mushrooms on our dinner plates at home or in restaurants, but other mushrooms are often poisonous and hard to recognise.
It is estimated that there are 1.5 million species of fungi in the world, yet only 5% of them have been discovered to date. This could be because they are often invisible growing inside logs and in the undergrowth.
This walk in Colin Glen Forest Park offers you the opportunity to discover the mushroom species in Forest with expert instruction on hand to guide you through the woodland.
