Following the AGM the seminar will review the progress made towards the government target of cutting child poverty in half by 2010 and eliminating it altogether by 2020.
The Key Speaker will be Kate Green, Director of Child Poverty Action Group followed by a question and answer panel including Goretti Horgan, research fellow in policy studies at the University of Ulster and chair of Northern Ireland Anti Poverty Network and Alex Tennant, head of policy and research at the Save the Children.
Goretti Horgan is currently completing a study on the impact of poverty on school experiences and will be able to provide an up-date on the research findings. Alex Tennant leads on child poverty issues in Northern Ireland for Save the Children which is about to launch a campaign on the issue.
