With our thoughts turned towards the proposed Bill of Rights for Northern Ireland, we at Kilcranny House are hosting a seminar looking at how respect for Human Rights can help to build a stable and fair society.

After a keynote speech by Patrick Corrigan, Director of Amnesty International NI, the delegates will break up into 3 separate workshops:

  1. Human Rights and Young People.
A practical workshop for those who work with young people and who would like to use Human Rights awareness as a path into discussing global and local issues.
Facilitated by Aine Weir, Global Youth Worker.
  2. Truth Recovery: an International Perspective.
This workshop will address the questions of what value there is in truth recovery in a post-conflict situation and whether Northern Ireland should have a truth-gathering process, by looking at truth recovery on an international level.
Facilitated by Roberta Bacic, Chilean lecturer & Human Rights activist
  3. Is Parading a Human Rights Issue?
A moderated dialogue allowing all points of view to be heard, on the issue of Cultural Expression which is so relevant to the future of peaceful relationships between the people of Northern Ireland. Could a Bill of Rights hold the answer?
    Facilitated by Kilcranny House.

There is no charge for attending this seminar and lunch is included
