Do you face daily challenges on issues such as sustainability, recruitment and quality of care? If so, there is help out there!
Social Economy Belfast, NIPPA and the University of Ulster have organised an event to tackle the issues and challenges facing childcare groups in Northern Ireland/Belfast.
Shedding some light on these areas are local practitioners and specialists. They will discuss topics including; the challenges of managing funding for a new build childcare centre, maintaining High/Scope accreditation whilst enhancing quality and achieving sustainability and maintaining a range of childcare services. We will also look at the introduction of the new POCVA legislation and the impact it will have on the recruitment and selection of staff in your organisation.
The event will also provide an opportunity to find out what support is available through the Social Economy Belfast and NIPPA business development programmes and the University of Ulster’s Knowledge Clubs networking initiative.
Rachel Marshall, Social Economy Belfast Programme Manager said “Increasingly childcare organisations are being asked to operate in a more business like way. Making your childcare group sustainable and adopting good business practices takes time and resources that many groups don’t have at their fingertips”.
“This event will help groups struggling to balance being a good childcare provider with being a viable business. It’s a must for those looking at how they make themselves sustainable”.
This free workshop event, which is open to anyone involved in delivering community childcare services in Belfast, is on Tuesday 14 March from 6.00pm – 8.30pm at the Voluntary Services Bureau, 34 Shaftsbury Square, Belfast. A light supper will be available from 6pm.
