This event is an opportunity before the elections on 7 March 2007 to have a conversation with political party representatives and community workers with regards the main issues impacting on the lives of women in rural areas and the lives of their families and communities.

These include, for example, the closure of rural schools and post-offices, access to further education and community based education, access to services, planning regulations, childcare and work opportunities, the low numbers of women standing for these elections and community relations.
