The Combat Poverty Agency and the Institute of Public Health in Ireland are holding an All Ireland joint conference entitled: 'A social determinants approach to tackling poverty and health inequalities'.
This event will take place on Wednesday 20 Septembter 2006 at Croke Park Stadium Conference Centre, Dublin 3.
The conference objectives are to:
* Raise awareness of the social determinants of health in Ireland
* Present good practice examples of how those working in the health and local government sector are tackling poverty and inequalities in health
* Strengthen links between health and local government in addressing the social determinants of health, and tackling poverty and inequalities in health.
The conference is aimed at professionals working in the Health Service Executive, Health and Social Services and local government sectors in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
