Healing Through Remembering are launching the first in a series of new reports on Tuesday 18th October @ 11:00am at the Healing Through Remembering Offices on Ormeau Avenue.
The first report, "Storytelling Audit: An audit of personal story, narrative and testimony initiatives related to the conflict in and about Northern Ireland", was compiled by Gráinne Kelly who was commissioned by Healing Through Remembering's storytelling sub group to prepare an audit of current storytelling initiatives relating to the conflict in and about Northern Ireland.
The audit contains details of approximately 30 storytelling initiatives and covers a wide range of projects. The report details each project's development, rationale, process, any product they have produced, any archives the projects have and there accessibility, the timeframe of the project and contact details for each project. The report also contains a discussion chapter where the process for identifying projects is outlined along with some comment on the motivations and objectives of storytelling initiatives related to the conflict in and about Northern Ireland.
The report will be presented at the launch by Gráinne Kelly who will give a brief presentation on the audit and its contents. The vice chair of the storytelling sub group, Claire Hackett, and a Healing Through Remembering Board member will also make some comments and observations on the report and it's recommendations. The floor will then be opened for questions and discussion.
The presentation will be followed by a buffet lunch.
Healing Through Remembering is an extensive cross-community project made up of a range of individual members holding different political perspectives. They have come together over the last five years to focus on the issue of how to deal with the past relating to the conflict in and about Northern Ireland.
