In Northern Ireland the Review of Public Administration has resulted in a major reconfiguration of services leading to changes in the models of service delivery. In the Republic of Ireland policy changes have also affected the way that that services are being provided. The Transformation Programme highlights the need to develop a care system that provides a more integrated approach to the delivery of health care services across all stages of the care journey. Similar health challenges affect both population sets - e.g. the rise in obesity, long term illness, an ageing population to name but a few. It is therefore an opportune time to examine both systems and explore ways in which we can learn from each other to maximise the health and social care of all the people of Ireland.
The conference aims to:
The programme will run over two days providing ample opportunity for networking and development of new partnerships. It is hoped to attract nursing delegates from all levels of health care delivery and from all disciplines. Including key strategic and front line managers, health visitors, community nurses, practice nurses, and community practitioners.
The conference is a joint venture between the Community & Public Health Nursing- An Institute of Community Health Nursing, Irish Practice Health Nursing, Irish Practice Nurses Association and Community Practitioners' and Health Visitors' Association Joint Conference Newsletter.
