This free four week course aims to help women from North Belfast learn about personal budgeting, saving and getting on top of bills.

The course is designed in such a way that your own personal finance remains that way!

It will be delivered by an Advice Northern Ireland Registered Adviser through group discussions and question and answer sessions at the Star Neighbourhood Centre, Hillman Street (the building opposite NICVA).

Topics Include:

  • Tracking your all weekly spending habits (sneaky bars of chocolate included!)
  • Making a budget and sticking to it (without living like Scrooge)
  • Store cards, credit cards, repayments and your rights
  • Money myths and legal recovery procedures
  • Saving and borrowing from a credit union for a special occasion (eg weddings, Christmas, baby, holiday or for a rainy day).

The project is an initiative of Intercomm’s WEAVE project and is supported by the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation under the direction of Training for Women Network and with kind support from Newington Credit Union.
 
Runs every Thursday for four weeks.
