The Housing Order (NI) 2003 is one of the most significant pieces of legislation to be introduced in Northern Ireland. It impacts on many areas of housing, including homelessness and the allocation of housing, security of tenure, anti social behaviour, tenants’ rights, grants, and HMOs.

This one day course will ensure that those concerned with housing issues are familiar with the effects of this legislation.

The course will include:

  • Changes to the law concerning homelessness and allocation of housing;
  • Introductory tenancies;
  • Extension of the grounds for possession;
  • Registration scheme for HMOs;
  • Rights of secure tenants;
  • Miscellaneous provisions, including those concerned with enforcement of the right to rent book, injunctions and Irish Travellers.

This course will be essential for housing advisers, housing staff and those concerned with housing issues. The closing date is 5 March 2004.
