The HIV Support Centre, Northern Ireland’s leading charity working on behalf of those living with and affected by HIV, is calling for daredevil volunteers from across Northern Ireland to Abseil 168ft down the Europa Hotel on Saturday 13th September 2008 to help raise funds to support it’s work.
Volunteers are being asked to raise a minimum of £75 in sponsorship and to confirm their place with a registration fee of £25. All funds raised will be spent in Northern Ireland – strengthening services, support and prevention.
Today there are approximately 650 people diagnosed with HIV living in Northern Ireland with, on average, two new cases being diagnosed per week. The HIV Support Centre works throughout the Province providing vital information, advice and support to people affected by HIV and also provides education and awareness training on prevention.
