Marvin Day was an overwhelming success in 2005 because it's a simple, powerful approach and a fun enjoyable way to support a good cause.

Let's see if we can make this year the best Marvin Day to date!

Everyone can support the fight against Meningitis and Septicaemia by wearing red on November 27 — International Marvin Day 2006. It’s a simple, powerful way to raise awareness. By joining together with thousands of schools, companies and organisations across the UK and Ireland, you’ll help Meningitis Research Foundation’s ongoing research and education about Meningitis and septicaemia.

Why you should participate
On average there are eight cases of Meningitis and Septicaemia every day in the UK. Meningitis and septicaemia – the blood poisoning form of the disease can strike anyone, of any age, at any time. With one in 10 people dying as a result and many more left with serious disabilities. Meningitis and septicaemia are devastating diseases which within just a few hours can leave a baby, child or adult fighting for their life.

What to Wear
Marvin Day has its very own dress code. Wear your favourite red clothes or accessory— a red Marvin badge, with a red handbag and shoes or a red tie with red socks. Go red in your own way to show your support for the Foundation.

‘Wear Red and put Meningitis to bed’ is really easy to organise in your school, workplace or club. Collect £1 from everyone who dresses in red and give them a Marvin Badge for taking part. You could also show a red card to those who don’t and impose a penalty fine! Sometimes it’s the simple things that work the best!
