Delivered by Stevie Johnston from the Workers' Educational Association, this short event for directors and senior officers in the voluntary and community sector will be a valuable experience for those about to embark on negotiation for new types of funding arrangements and contracts with government departments and other funders.
WEA has just emerged from a challenging period of change in which it has moved from a Compact to a Contract with the Department for Learning and Employment.
In this member led event, Stevie Johnston, WEA’s Director will share his experience about the to move to a ‘payment by results’ contract, his role as ‘Accounting Officer’ for WEA and the impact on innovation and risk taking for the organisation and more widely. Stevie will also focus on the longer-term consequences of this new contract including its potential impact on terms and conditions, organisational culture and lessons for the sector as a whole.
