Dyslexia Awareness Raising Together (DART) has extensively researched dyslexia and the negative impacts that it can have on a person's life if left unrecognised, such as low self esteem and depression. Many children and young people still struggle with the educational system without help and become convinced at an early age they are failures. In some cases this may lead to emotional problems and behavioural difficulties and sometimes to truancy and crime. DART hopes that this presentation will raise awareness of dyslexia with Policy Makers and society in general, and lead to policy change.
This event is being organised by in conjunction with the Women’s Resource and Development Agency with funding from the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Foundation and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.
